Glossary of Terms:
In the world of Lasertag there are many different words used to describe equipment, playing areas, types of players etc. While viewing RTHQ's pages you'll come across many acronyms and words which are specifically related to SEGA Lock-On or are nick names or just things we like to say!
When you are talking to someone who has never played Lasertag and doesn't know what it is (especially parents and people who may not approve), it is a good idea to use politically correct language.
Instead of:
"Well we run around in the bush and try to kill each other"
Use:
"We participate in a game where individuals try to tag each other using special tagging equipment."
Unfortunetly no one ever knows what this means:
(some guy) - "...Huh?"
(LT Player) - "Ummm, we try to kill each other"
(some guy) - "How?"
(LT Player) - "With guns!"
(some guy) - "Oh..like Paintball?"
(LT Player) - "Yeah, except with different gear"
(some guy) - "COOL!"

Hand Unit - the thing which fires the Infra-Red beam to tag the sensor.
Headset - the sensor used in Lock-on, mounted on the front of the head.

L:
Lasertag - the name of the game where you run around and shoot people with plastic guns!
Laser/Lazer -
Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation, these things are not used in our games, becuase they are not really safe for the eyes (no LASERs are safe for the eyes!) and since we aim at the head , laser aiming devices are completely out-of-bounds. The word laser or lazer is just used for the effect, it sounds a bit better than Infraredtag! So if anyone asks tell them that there are no lasers used in the equipment (except for Arena) and that it is completely safe to play!
Lens assembly - the unit which houses lens and emitter, comes in many shapes and sizes.
LesserTag - the name given to any lasertag equipment or game which is inferior to the one you use.
LO - Lock-On
LO2 - Lock-On 2
